Delivery 2017: New Systems and New Components

Delivery 2017The Dortmund Data Bank is growing rapidly not only by more data sets and points from new sources but the number of covered mixtures and pure components is also growing quickly continuously improving the applicability range of the data base.

This web page shows the number of added systems and components and contains links to the list of systems for the mixture property data banks and list of components for the pure component property data bank.

Modified UNIFAC (Do): List of published parameters updated

The list of published parameters for modified UNIFAC (Dortmund) now contains parameters from

  • Hector, Gmehling, Fluid Phase Equilib. 371, 82-92 (2014)
  • Constantinescu, Gmehling, J.Chem.Eng.Data, 61(8), 2738-2748 (2016)

They are also included in version 2017 of DDB / DDBSP.

DDB and integrated Software Package 2017 wait in the wings

Delivery 2017The Dortmund Data Bank is going through last tests and delivery preparations. The software package is feature-complete and is now also undergoing thorough testing. Latest job is the building of the distributions.

DDBST hopes to start distribution in the next days.

DDBST User Meeting 2017

DDBST User Metting 2017The next joint DDBST user and UNIFAC consortium member meeting is planned for September 19th to 20th, 2017.

The first day, Tuesday, will be filled, as usual, with lectures and discussions. We invite our customers and the consortium members to contribute own (short) lectures. The second day will be open for personal appointments and there will be a free course presenting the content of the Dortmund Data Bank and the features of DDBST's software package.

DDBST Contributes to a Workshop on Solvent Regeneration near Basel

The SGVC (Swiss Society of Process and Chemical Engineers) organizes a workshop on "Solvent Regeneration" and DDBST (Dr. Jürgen Rarey) is holding two lectures about solvent separation by distillation and extraction and about data retrieval and data estimation.

The workshop is taking place on March 30, 2017 in the Infrapark at Muttenz, Baselland, Switzerland.

14th Joint DDBST User and UNIFAC Consortium Member Meeting Closed

The 14th joint DDB user and UNIFAC consortium member meeting took place on Tuesday, September 20th and Wednesday, 21st.

We were very happy that we could welcome 32 participants from a wide variety of companies and countries. We had several customer lectures together with several talks of our own people. But, most important, there've been plenty of very useful and productive discussions showing us what is important for our customers and leading the way to the future of the Dortmund Data Bank, its software package, and the UNIFAC consortium.

We would like to thank all participants for their contributions and hope we will keep in touch and see most of this year's participants also in the next year.

GVT Course in March

A GVT Course is held by Prof. h.c. Dr. Jürgen Rarey from March 8 to 11, 2016.

The course is held in German and the title is "Grundlagen zur Auswahl, Synthese und Auslegung thermischer Trennprozesse" ("Fundamentals about Selection, Synthesis, and Design of Thermal Separation Processes").

The last day is a workshop about the Dortmund Data Bank and the software package.

DDBSP introduced to members of the Japan Society of Thermophysical Properties.

Prof. Yamaguchi from the Fundamental Energy Science and Engineering Research Group at Nagasaki University recently introduced DDBSP to the members of the Japan Society of Thermophysical Properties by two short articles in Japanese.

Explorer Edition - Free DownloadDDBST GmbH now provides the free Explorer Version 2015. The previous version was from 2011 and very outdated.

Besides several thousand data sets with experimental pure component and mixture data for 30 common components, restricted versions of most programs are included.

Dortmund Data Bank Delivery 2015

The version 2015 of the Dortmund Data Bank has now been frozen. We have an increase of more than 65000 data sets from last year's version to this and considerably over half a million new data points. The list of references, mainly scientific articles, grows by over 7000 entries. The total number of data points is now very close to 7 million.

More information for the new 2015 version will be added soon.
