Based on our assessment of the global situation and the instructions from the government regarding the Covid-19 expansion and possible after-effects, we decided to forego this years meeting to protect you and our employees.

This indeed difficult decision does not influence the work of the UNIFAC consortium and DDBST. To this day all our staff is doing well and we hope it stays that way. Amongst others, we are currently working on the finalization of this years delivery for both UNIFAC consortium and version 2020 of our software and data banks. Although the majority of our employees works from home, we are able to keep services alive. As usual you will receive the UNIFAC consortium delivery 2020 to the usual extent via download at the end of September.

We are still there for you in case of any questions regarding our services and products and would be happy to serving you as best as possible. We are looking forward to meeting you next year in September at the latest.

The following table shows the current state of development of the UNIFAC Consortium model matrices for all four supported models UNIFAC, modified UNIFAC (Do), PSRK and VTPR compared to the published parameters.

For the extension of the experimental data base for the revision of already existing group interaction parameters as well as for fitting of new group interaction parameters, systematic experimental measurements are performed. For the UNIFAC Consortium delivery 2017, 17 vapor-liquid equilibrium data sets, 28 excess enthalpy data sets and 4 solid-liquid equilibrium data sets of binary systems have been measured over the whole concentration range.

An Addendum to

“Further Development of Modified UNIFAC (Dortmund):
Revision and Extension 6”

has been published in the Journal of Chemical and Engineering Data by the UNIFAC Consortium.

DDBST has extended the interaction parameter list of the group contribution equation of state VTPR (Volume-Translated Peng-Robinson).

Prof. Gmehling has described this work in a contribution to the ResearchGate project "Further development of the group contribution equation of state VTPR".

A new paper about

• the further development of modified UNIFAC (Dortmund): revision and extension and
• a fitting tool for group contribution interaction parameters

has been published in the Journal of Chemical and Engineering Data by the UNIFAC Consortium.

The 13^th joint UNIFAC consortium member and DDB user meeting took place on Tuesday, September 22^nd and Wednesday, 23^rd.

We were very happy that we could welcome 38 participants from a wide variety of companies and countries. We had several customer lectures together with several talks of our own people. But, most important, there've been plenty of very useful and productive discussions showing us what is important for our customers and leading the way to the future of the UNIFAC consortium, the Dortmund Data Bank, and its software package.

We would like to thank all participants for their contributions and hope we will keep in touch and see most of this year's participants also in the next year.

The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology has become a member of the UNIFAC Consortium. Main contact at the KIT is the Institute of Catalysis Research and Technology (IKFT).

The thirteenth common meeting of the UNIFAC Consortium and the DDBST will take place on Tuesday 22^nd September 2015 at TGO (Technologie- und Gründerzentrum Oldenburg).

The meeting has taken place on Tuesday, September 16^th. A variety of lectures and discussions contribute to a pleasant and fruitful atmosphere which continued on Wednesday, September 17^th. DDBST and the UNIFAC Consortium have received appreciation for last year's work and also proposals and suggestions for the future work.

We welcomed 35 guests company representatives from all over the world, most of them UNIFAC Consortium members and DDBST customers and a few guests. We were happy that we had several lectures from our customers and members and also from companies where we established scientific and technical cooperations.

We are now in the process of collecting all the information from our meeting, preparing some reports about the discussions, and updating information material. We hope to publish it and also distribute the internal information for the UNIFAC consortium members in the next few weeks.

The next joint meeting of UNIFAC consortium members and DDBST customers is coming soon (September 16) and more than 30 participants have already registered. The UNIFAC consortium begins to uncover some of its new results - all the details and especially the new parameters will only be reported to the members of the consortium.

The 12th joint UNIFAC Consortium and DDBST User Meeting will take place 2014/09/16 - 2014/09/17 in Oldenburg

A recent development on the Modified UNIFAC (Dortmund) model is the introduction of a new flexible main group, which enable the calculation of phase equilibrium and thermodynamic excess properties for various systems containing Polyethylene glycol (PEG 200, 300, 400, 600, 1000, 1500, 2000 and 3270). The eleventh common meeting of the UNIFAC Consortium and the DDBST User Meeting took place on Monday 16^th September 2013 and Tuesday 17^th September 2012 at TGO (Technologie- und Gründerzentrum Oldenburg) and at DDBST, respectively.

In the long tradition of consortium, the meeting 2013 brought together once more the company representatives from all over the world.

Dr. Dana Constantinescu and Prof. h. c. Dr. Jürgen Rarey attended the Meeting "Programm Wissenschaftlich-Technische Zusammenarbeit zwischen OAO Gazprom und Wintershall Holding GmbH" on October 9^th in Münster.

Dr. Dana Constantinescu held a lecture about "Status of predictive thermodynamic models for process design" and Prof. h. c. Dr. Jürgen Rarey about "The Dortmund Data Bank and software - Highest valued source for physical properties and phase equilibria for process design ".

The main goal of our participation was to inform the scientists and engineers of GAZPROM about the importance of DDBST's and Consortium activities

Participants from all over the world joined the 10^th joint UNIFAC Consortium and DDBST User Meeting which took place in Oldenburg, Germany, from September 18^th to 19^th 2012.

The meeting took place at the TGO, Technologie- und Gründerzentrum Oldenburg and at DDBST.

The progress of the group contribution models original UNIFAC, modified UNIFAC, PSRK and the actual status of the VTPR (Volume Translated Peng Robinson) group contribution equation of state were shown together with new and improved features of the Dortmund Data Bank and the integrated software package DDBSP.

In order to encrease the interest in the scientific program, seven participants from industry presented short lectures in the area of thermophysical property data estimation, correlation, measurement, application and the use of the DDB / DDBSP.

Dr. Dana Constantinescu hold a lecture with the title "Present Status of the Group Contribution Methods UNIFAC and Modified UNIFAC (Dortmund). Revision and Extension" and presented a poster "Dortmund Data Bank(DDB) and the Integrated Program Package(DDBSP)".
