ESLE - Salt Solubilities

The data bank for salt solubilities is one of the largest and fastest growing segments of the DDB. It contains solubility data for ionic components and solvents in mixtures up to six components.

Whenever possible, information about the precipitating species (hydrate, solvate, ...) is given.

As an example data for the the well known system NaCl-water are shown on the right. The discontinuity at the eutectic point at low salt concentration is clearly visible. Below the eutectic concentration, the data describe the melting curve of water containing varying concentrations of sodium chloride.

The data bank is of great importance for all applications where either a salt may precipitate or the dissolved salt changes the melting curve of another salt or a solvent. In addition, ESLE data are important for the derivation of activity coefficient models for electrolyte solutions.

A full list of systems is available in our DDB Online Search system. The page might take some seconds to load because of its size.
