The polymer data bank (short DDB-POLY) has been started in 2003 as an extension of the Dortmund Data Bank, to include also polymer related data. In case of this data bank the design
of the data structure turned out to be rather complex due to the various data types and different ways of polymer characterization.
With the help of Dr. Wohlfarth, a well known expert for polymer data with an experience over thirty years DDBST was able to build a data bank covering almost
all published polymer related data.
The data bank contains predominantly
- vapor-liquid equilibria (VLE)
- liquid-liquid equilibria (LLE)
- gas/vapor/solvent solubility data
- PVT-data for polymers
- HE and Hdilution data for polymer/solvent systems
- VE and density data for polymer/solvent systems
- further properties (swelling, partition coefficients, ...)
Via a specially defined interface, the polymer data bank is integrated into the software of our partner VLXE.
DDB-POLY is now fully integrated in the Dortmund Data Bank. It contains 16,916 data sets (161,218 data points) from 1,370 references for 1,076
components and 4,601 different systems (3,867 binary, 573 ternary,64 quaternary and 8 quinary systems) (June 2009).
